Ian holds over 40 years’ experience in industrial fermentation for food and biopharma, both academic and industrial. He has worked for many years with key fermentation related companies and brings considerable knowledge on science and engineering to enable efficient facility design and scientific operation.

Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer

David founded planetary out of conviction to 'do well and do good'. Previously Chief Commercial Officer at Migros Online, engagement manager at McKinsey & Co., and co-founder of Peace of Meat (exit through acquisition & NASDAQ IPO), David leads planetary's business strategy and execution.

Dr. Muyiwa Akintoye

Chief Product Officer

Muyiwa has worked in diverse areas of food product research including brewing, canning, breakfast cereal manufacture, and dairy production for over 30 years. Muyiwa is the former head of R&D at Quorn foods, and provides guidance, direction, and development of fungal biomass by fermentation, characterization, and use in plant-based meats and dairy free milks at planetary.

Chief Technology Officer

Joachim holds over 30 years’ experience in chemical and biochemical engineering. He is the former Managing Director of a GEA company, former executive at ThyssenKrupp, and has designed, constructed, and operated multiple large scale manufacturing facilities. Joachim brings his expertise to the planetary engineering team to construct efficient, built for purpose facilities.

Planetary is looking for an experienced Bioprocess Engineer with expertise in factory and plant design, infrastructure, regulations, and finished product formulations.

Qualifications and Experience:

Successfully completed university studies in chemical or bioprocess engineering or related disciplines
+5 years of experience of process engineering design possibly within the biotech industry.
Experience and familiarity with designing for delivery/implementation and associated project construction and execution.
Professional experience in industrial biotechnology, especially in the area of process development/scaling
Ability to perform process development involving multiple disciplines (e.g., product isolation and purification,) in cross-functional and cross-site teams
Familiarity with modern CAE packages and interfacesfor process plant design.
Evidence of working as part of a multi-disciplineteam.
English is required, German is a plus

Qualifications and Experience:

Masters degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related
10+ years of business experience across multiple disciplines and large CAPEX project management experience in pharma, biotech, engineering, or similar
Knowledge of process engineering, food plant construction, planning, and process technology strongly preferred
Previous project management experience and leadership of teams which are diverse and cross-functional
Full working proficiency of both English and German
Demonstrated ability to apply independent judgment to solve problems; inspires loyalty and trust; handles oneself ethically, ability to motivate, ability to lead without formal authority; ability to influence outcomes; ability to get things done through others; agile mindset.
